Thanksgiving 2009

We had our first Thanksgiving at our home this year! It was great, missed my family but with so many of us in the medical field it just wasn't possible this year:(  I cooked everything except the turkey and I left that to Josh. I am really not crazy about turkey so that was his baby. It turned out pretty good, for turkey:)  I wish I had taken a picture of the spread, we had food coming out our ears!! Left overs for days and days.  After dinner was done and cleaned up we put up our tree, which is still a pretty sad little tree:( I keep meaning to get a new one but just forget untill thanksgiving and then it is to late. It's always been a tradition at Grannies to put the tree up after dinner on thanksgiving so I have to keep that going.
We are also going to have Christmas here for the first time this year, I'm excited about that too!!

Honeymoon in the Smokies

We took a 33 min helicopter ride in a Bell 206 and got some great photos of Mt. LeConte, Klingman's Dome, Bluff Mountain (the mountain that we got married on), and Wears Valley. We were able to spot our cabin and identify some landmarks that we were unsure about when looking off the back deck of the cabin.
This is a pic of the view we had off the back deck of the cabin. We later found out that this is Sevierville, TN. You can't tell from the picture, but there is a water tower and airport in the distance that we spotted from the helicopter ride. That's how we figured out where the cabin was from almost 3000 feet.
This is a pic of the black bear we saw on our way to Laurel Falls. Overall, we had good luck with the wildlife. We managed to feed 5 racoons on the back deck of the cabin and spotted a black bear.

Wedding 9/19/09

We final got to have our wedding, even though we have been married for 9 months:) It was a wonderful day and I loved every second of it. We had our family and close friends with us at Bluff Mountain Inn. It was a beautiful day for a wedding. I was afraid it might rain but it held off until just after the wedding was over. I can't wait till the pictures get posted they are going to be great!! We are still eating cake, which was fantastic, and having a blast in our cabin. The view is amazing, the cabin is awesome and the raccoons are so cute!! A momma and two babies that Josh has named Myrtle, Oscar and Melvin:) We are having a great time and are so glad that the week turned out so well. Thanks to all our family and friends who were there to support us, we love you! Also a big thanks to Robbie White our pastor who drove 5hrs by his self for one night just to officiate.
